High viscosity index mineral oils developed to be used as functional fluids in hydraulic systems and systems of all kinds. The entire range is characterized by excellent anti-wear properties.
- P Hydrus Oil lubricants, available in the grades normally foreseen for hydraulic systems, have strong anti-wear properties as highlighted by the results of the technological tests:
- The wear of the vanes and the ring of the Vickers pump is around 35 mg;
- In the FZG test the grade 32 exceeds the 11th stage, while the 12th stage is passed by the grades 46, 68, 100.150.
They are therefore able to reduce the wear of the critical parts of the hydraulic systems (in particular vane pumps, gears, pistons and hydraulic motors), which can operate even in extremely severe conditions and even in conditions of lubrication and "limit" speed. These properties ensure the best performance and longest life of plumbing systems.
All the oils in the range are characterized by a high resistance to oxidation, so they effectively resist the formation of sludge and other oxidation products even in the most severe service conditions and thus allow long service life with consequent savings even in speseale, which results in a limited variation in viscosity even when significant fluctuations in temperature occur. This ensures, in particular, the correct and regular operation of the hydraulic systems, avoiding problems such as insufficient sealing, power losses, cavitation and other problems.
They also have a low pour point which makes them suitable for use at low temperatures allowing for easy cold starting. This property, combined with the high viscosity index and excellent oxidation resistance, extends the range of operating temperatures of these oils.
IP Hydrus Oil lubricants incorporate special additives that impart high anti-rust properties and strong anti-corrosion properties of metals normally present in hydraulic systems (and other circulation systems) even in the presence of water or atmospheric humidity. These properties make it possible to avoid rusting and corrosion of parts such as pumps, valves, cylinders, pistons, etc., thus ensuring high performance and low maintenance costs.
They are characterized by the ability to readily separate from the water with which they can come into contact. The good demulsibility avoids the dragging of water into circulation with the risk of rusting and corrosion as well as, in the presence of relatively large quantities of water, the formation of even stable emulsions which could cause damage or excessive wear.
IP Hydrus Oil hydraulic oils have strong properties against the formation of foam and a remarkable ability to readily separate the air incorporated in the oil during service. Together these properties allow to avoid the drawbacks caused by excessive foaming and aeration which, by inducing an intolerable compressibility in the fluid, can cause operating irregularities. The lubricants of the IP Hydrus Oil range are compatible with the most widely used oleoresistant materials for sealing gaskets, in particular for hydraulic systems.
- IP Hydrus Oil lubricants have been specially designed for use in hydraulic systems. However, by virtue of their properties and characteristics, these oils are able to provide effective performance in the widest range of uses of oils with additives for circulation systems. The ISO VG 10 grade is suitable for the lubrication of fast spindles of machine tools and spindles of textile machines.
